Huippukokki Marcus Samuelssonin suunnittelemissa Kitchen & Table -ravintoloissa ammennetaan New Yorkin monimuotoisesta ruokakulttuurista, pohjoismaisella twistillä.

Jätkäsaaren ikonisesta 30-luvun makasiinirakennuksesta löytyvän ravintolan menussa Harlem kohtaa Helsingin sulassa sovussa. Kausittain vaihtuvalla ruokalistalla on tarjolla mieleenpainuvia makuelämyksiä. Ravintola on pieni pala Manhattania Jätkäsaaren rannassa, kivenheiton päässä keskustasta ‒ mutkaton, herkullinen ja elegantti.

A disappointing visit

There was special breakfast offer at the hotel restaurant which we booked. Once we arrived the waiter claimed a different price for children. When we quoted the price on the website he just ignored and went on explaining that the price he told us is correct. We asked him to check the price to which he said “yes yes” impatiently but still charged us the different price. His attitude was poor and left us feeling as if we were liars. Needles to say our mood for a happy family breakfast had changed totally. If we didn’t have three young children with us we would have left. Later before we left waiter came over and said he was going to check the price now but added that the price he charged was same as last year’s offer. Sounded very odd to us as you should be charging as per current offer and not something that was correct the year before. Anyway he never came back to us even though he saw us leaving. A very disappointing visit and even more disappointing when they are part of a four star hotel. I could not recommend the restaurant based on our experience unfortunately.

Pöytävaraus kahdelle aamupalalle

Olin voittanut arvonnassa kahdelle hengelle aamiaisen. Olin tehnyt pöytävarauksen klo.09:30, joka oli vahvistettu. Tullessamme ravintolaan, saimme palvelua englannin kielellä. Suomessa virallisina kielinä ovat suomen- ja ruotsinkieli. Kun olemme Suomessa, tulee saada suomenkielistä palvelua. Kerroin ja näytin matkapuhelimestani pöytävarauksen. Miestarjoilija sanoi, että menkää istumaan sivummalle, ravintola on nyt täynnä ja hän tulee hakemaan meidät, kun pöytä vapautuu. Sanoin, että meillä tosiaan on pöytävaraus. Naistarjoilija puuttui tilanteeseen ja miestarjoilija alkoi puhua maksusta; hänelle ei tuntunut menevän perille, että kyseessä oli arvontavoitto. Lopulta saimme pöydän, joka oli likainen edellisten ruokailijoiden jäljiltä, pöytäpintaa ei pyyhitty. Oletin, että kun olin tehnyt pöytävarauksen, meille olisi ollut pöyrä varattuna ja varattu pöytä olisi ollut meren puolella. Kaiken kaikkiaan siis pettymys. Ruokasali oli hyvin levoton ja äänekäs, musiikki soi liian kovaa. Ruoka oli keskinkertaista; karjalanpiirakat liian tummiksi paistettuja ja kovia, kiivit raakoja, mehut liian makeita, sali ylipäätään sekava ja levoton. Palvelualttiutta lisää ja suomen kielellä, kiitos!

Breakfast

Breakfast was good as always and nice to see that you have added something new to the breakfast menu as well. How ever I would like to say that this is third time around that your hostess makes us feel unwelcomed by saying "you have booked too litlle time to eat" or "we are very busy at the moment" or "hotel quests comes first". It is not nice to hear those kind of things first thing when we are paying quest and your restaurant allows people to make resevation outside beeing hotel quest. We also understand If we make tabel resevation @10.30 and you close at 11 that we have 30min Time to eat. Otherwise we would have booked More Time. If you think that 10.30 is not enough Time to eat, then you should close your tablebookings at 10.00. It is common knowledge at restaurant service industry to Make quests feel welcome by saying siply "welcome and nice to have you here, wait a moment, we will get your table ready" All other comments are unnecessary. We see that your are busy but we dont want to feel the rush you as workers have. We want to enjoy our breakfast no matter how busy you are or how litlle time we have to eat it.

Overprized. Sunday menu extremely limited. Pulled reindeer was just ”poronkäristys” and 25€ for such a burger is way too much. Skagen as a starter was excellent.
